Rev Fr Joseph Migidi the Episcopal Vicar for Clergy and Religious of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio applaud the new trend which has been adopted by the diocese of Tombura-Yambio of giving the priests opportunity to train on different courses which can touch the life of the faithful.

Rev Fr. Jacinto Nangi, Rev Fr. Mathew Sangu and Rev Fr. Justin Gizaza  are at Chemichemi ya Uzima (Fountain of Living Waters) Institute in Kenya, Nairobi for on-going formation course and for certificate in formation respectively.

After some years of services as priests in any given roles, it is mandatory that priests of this diocese to go for sabbatical training!

Chemichemi ya Uzima is an oasis of peace and quiet in heart of Karen, it offers various program like Psycho spiritual and Sabbatical, formation of formators, it has also institute of Catechetic and Pastoral diploma and BTH, other programs include Justice and Peace Commission, SCORE ECD and Capacity for Inter religious Community Action (CARCA).

 Rev Fr. Sette Miambu is at Marist International University College, Nairobi pursuing degree in Psycho Spiritual Studies for three years. It is a constituent College of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA). It offers a number of curses like Psycho Spiritual Studies, Bachelor of Education (BED), Business Management, Bachelor of Education (Arts)

Rev Fr Emmanuel Bie is pursuing diploma in Agribusiness at Baraka Agriculture College in Kenya. The College that is managed by Franciscan brothers offers the concept of Sustainable Agriculture for Rural Development offering wide range of courses ranging from Diploma, certificate and tailor made short courses sustainable agriculture value chain.           

"We are working with something more important — people's souls and that is why Priests also must be college-educated, starting with a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Theology, philosophy, literature and religious studies are the most common majors” Fr. Migidi added.

They are really given the strength, wisdom and guidance to continue," Fr Joseph Migidi said. "If God is calling a young man, He will give them the grace and strength they need."
