Addressing the general public during the first anniversary of the Azande kingdom in Yambio-Western Equatoria State on February 9, 2023, Rt Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba the speaker of the national legislative assembly advised leaders to be role models for youth in Western Equatoria. “Chiefs including elders should always be an example for the young people in the community in terms of practicing good behaviors, agriculture, and other social practices within their respective communities that foster positive change.”

She encouraged youth who are the backbone of the Country to desist from laziness, and too much drinking of alcohol and embark on agriculture to yield enough food for cash and consumption in the newly restored kingdom.

Hon. Jemma advised the leaders to be honest and always do the right practice since dishonesty has a lot of negative impact on social lives, it misleads and creates mistrust and conflicts in the community.

She reminded the general public to value the Papal visit to South Sudan as a pilgrim of peace, love, and unity for the people of South Sudan and that they should abide by his words to value and protect human lives as to work together for development.

The occasion was held at the freedom square in Yambio where thousands of different ethnic groups across South Sudan and people from abroad gathered to witness and celebrate the first anniversary of the Azande kingdom.
