The Bishop of Tombura-Yambio Diocese, Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala is calling the direct office of the Catholic Organization for Development and Peace (CODEP) the social wing of the Diocese to critically pay attention to the unprivileged members in the society who are in great need, and suffering, sleeping on empty stomach who are moving on streets for help.

Bishop Eduardo said, he has witnessed it where single mothers, expectant and breast-feeding women are truly struggling to survive on a meal, a situation which he termed as "unworthy’’ . While addressing diocesan staff during Monday morning devotion in Curia, the Bishop instructed that there is no reason whereby members of the community in the Diocese should go hungry because the land is so fertile that can produce all types of crops and yield sufficiently.

“You, the staff working in Curia should be the first to dirt your hand in the soil to produce food for your family members and sell to others quality product for income and remained self-supportive”, Bishop said.

on Sunday June12, 2022, Bishop Barani Eduardo in his homily at St. Mary’s Mother of God Yambio Parish told the congregants that the whole area of the diocese and Western Equatoria State is fertile but many are not using that golden opportunity to cultivate and produce enough food. He informed the congregation that prayer without physical work is incomplete prayer.
