At least fifty Catechists drowned across thirty-five parishes of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio are set to begin phase two of their one-month training on catechism affairs.

Speaking to the journalist of the Rurugene newsletter in the morning of Thursday, 2, 2023, the Diocesan pastoral coordinator Fr. Fr. He said in phase one of the training the Catechists had learned about the scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

The Diocesan pastoral coordinator added that the Diocese wants to see its pastoral work in the grass root at the level of the Chapels, Centers, and Parishes improved, citing the Catechists are vital in the pastoral work and in the mission of the Church.

“First of all, this training is a training of one month and we have divided it into three phases. So, I’m grateful that this week we shall be having training for the Catechists of the Diocese, this training will take 10 days and the catechists will come all over the Diocese of Tambura Yambio”, Fr. Medeni added.

Father Medeni said arrangements for the training are set and participants have begun to arrive at Palica in Nzara County where the training is expected to be held.
