Thousands of Catholic believers from different Parishes and Chapels of the central deanery under the CDTY, converged this evening at Villa football playing ground to take part in the second week of the ongoing Lenten period that began last Friday.
In his encouraging massage this evening at St. Mary Parish mother of God, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio, His Lordship Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala, called on the Christians to use this Lenten period for prayers and extend hands of help to the needy.
The second week of the campaign also focuses on the "Prevention of our Environment against Wildfire" mostly destroys our environment.
The report of the burning of bushes anyhow by the members of the community, as such results in the burning of houses, and farm yards among others. In today’s way of the cross, Christians were asked to pray for this practice to end.
Of recent, the report suggested that Churches, houses schools in rural areas got burnt when a fire was set in a bush that covered long distances to burn down those public places and institutions.
