“Be Teachers for Solution to Transform South Sudan”, Says Bishop Hiiboro to Students of STTC

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio on Saturday, October 12th on his curtsey visit to Solidarity Teachers Training College Yambio (STTC) urged the students of STTC to embrace teaching to transform South Sudan through quality education.
His Lordship in his address acknowledges that educating learners is the only way to move forward despite the economic crisis in the country but rather to be solutions to challenges urging them to uphold patriotism in a step to development.
The Prelate advised the students to not give up even if there are challenges facing them in the process of achieving their dreams stressing that any move to success needs focus and determination to record the ambition.
The local ordinary of CDTY encouraged the students to embrace the profession of teaching as one way to a good legacy adding that good teacher’s model behaviors of patience, empathy, communication, and understanding that can help grow their learners.
For his part, Br. Chris the principal of the college acknowledged that the bishop's visit was an important gesture and motivation for the institution where students need more encouragement to love the teaching profession for the better future of all South Sudanese and Africa through education.

Mr.Isaac Kuku, one of the student teachers revealed that what discouraged most of them from embracing the profession is the low payments of teachers and delays in salaries calling for the national government to put much emphasis on the education sector.
