Equatoria Teak Have Supplied and Supported Over 1500 Farmers in Yambio and Nzara

Nzara, South Sudan, the Equatoria Teak Company have supported over 1500 farmers for coffee cultivation in Yambio and Nzara County, a move expected to significantly boost local employment and economic growth and provide sustainable job opportunities for the youth in the region.
Managing Director Mr. Ian Paterson emphasized the importance of this project in fostering self-reliance and reducing poverty among local communities.
"Equatoria Teak is committed to training community members in environmental conservation and cash crop cultivation”, he continued, “the company supplies coffee seedlings to employees, encouraging them to establish their coffee gardens to improve their economic prospects".
He added, "We do not just support and supply just our employees, but the local community focusing on youth and women and as a company we are conducting trials on other alternative crops to improve livelihoods in future. As company we continue to do trials to create sustainable jobs through teak coffee and other alternative crops
Local business leaders also expressed support for Equatoria Teak’s initiative, Bakistan Salah, secretary of the Nzara Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the company’s decision to clear previously unused market space. “This new space will provide local vendors and farmers with essential opportunities to sell their products,” he remarked.
