Six Offices under CODEP Launched for Effective Administration

The new plan of opening 6 coordination offices under CODEP within the 6 deaneries of CDTY has finally been achieved. CODEP (Catholic Organization for Development and Peace) is the national Caritas of Catholic Diocese of Tombura – Yambio.

According to Bishop Eduardo “the offices are established to help the administration of CODEP spread its services to the grass root and respond to the needs of the communities as soon as possible and keep the flow of information between the counties”.

To make the work more effective, all the directors have been trained towards the new responsibility as Episcopate Vicar of all those deaneries will be an overall administrator of the offices.

CODEP is a National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) that promotes social development arm of the CDTY. It obtained an independent registration at the state level as an NGO in 2017 It further obtained NGO operation certificate from Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (Reg: No: 577) in 2014 as a national NGO with a functional Board and members drawn from diverse professional and locational backgrounds in South Sudan.

CODEP exists to carry out the social development and peace agenda of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura – Yambio. It exists to facilitate the development of, and resettlement infrastructure and resilience for victims of prolonged violence under the jurisdiction of the CDTY in the WES of Republic of Southern Sudan

It is guided with the following core ideals as expounded in the constitution;

 Respect, Compassion and team work – we work as a team and value human dignity with concern for the less fortunate.

 Innovation and Learning – We constantly seek to improve our capabilities and learning so that we can always be best placed to meet our stakeholder needs and meet the development agenda of the Diocese.

Finally Bishop Eduardo congratulated the CODEP administration for the new initiative as he believe that it will transform the communities within the Diocese.
