The governor of Western Equatoria State, Alfred Futuyo Karaba has called upon former government officials withholding government assets in the state to return them back.
This comes after he received assets from different counties on Tuesday morning. Speaking to the press, the governor said that the reason as to why he has done so is for accountability among government officials as well as for stocktaking.
He said cars especially are the ones needed more as the state needs to make an evaluation of which ones are functioning, which ones needs repair and which ones can no longer function.
Governor Futuyo has also called upon those working in the state revenue department to go back to work, after their activities were suspended weeks ago.
Elia Kosta the commissioner of defunct Amadi also in charge of overseeing the assets collection, said that so far, they have managed to collect four cars from Amadi, four from Maridi, seven from Tombura and seventeen from Gbudue. He concluded that most of the returned cars needs to be repaired.
