Veteran Politician of SPLM Paid a Courtesy visit to Azande King
A member of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) political Bureau Hon. Tor Deng, on Wednesday 4th January 2023 visited the King of the Azande people with a massage from president Kiir of the Republic of South Sudan. The message was to address and adjust 2023 to be the year of reconciliation, peace, and unity in the whole of South Sudan.

A member of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) political Bureau Hon. Tor Deng, on Wednesday 4th January 2023 visited the King of the Azande people with a massage from president Kiir of the Republic of South Sudan. The message was to address and adjust 2023 to be the year of reconciliation, peace, and unity in the whole of South Sudan.
He added, “the three words; reconciliation, peace, and unity must be a slogan for people to reflect on and know their meanings properly.”
During the meeting, Hon. Tor Deng handed some gifts to the king such as bull and other traditional materials to facilitate some works in Azande kingdom.
He expressed extreme happiness to the people of Western Equatoria State and the Azande Kingdom for accepting the message of the president, hoping that the other States and kingdoms in the country will accept the massage of 2023 to be the year of reconciliation, peace, and unity in South Sudan, “let us put behind all our things of 2022 and start 2023 with a clean heart.”
For his part, his majesty king Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue acknowledge and appreciated the president for sending people with skills to the land of the Azande kingdom while calling on both the State Government and National Government to support the Kingdom to stage the first anniversary of the Azande Kingdom on 9th February, the event that will avail to the public the council of elders which will be the strong pillar of the Kingdom in decision making.
Atoroba peals to the president to kindly visit Western Equatoria, a State the president of South Sudan Salver Kiir visited way back in 2010 before the election citing that if the president come to the newly restored Kingdom, it will be of advantage for the development of the Kingdom and people of Western Equatoria not only the Azande people.
Those who attended the occasion include; the National Minister of Public Service Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro, Deputy Governor of Western Equatoria state Hon. Dr. Kennedy Gaaniko Baime among others.
