Some 140 orphans have benefited from a distribution of soaps by a non-governmental organization, Union for Struggle against HIV/AIDS and Poverty [USAP]. Speaking to Anisa Radio, the executive director of USAP Madam Lela Susan said that, it is the mandate of their organization to help the needy in the society citing that during this coronavirus pandemic, there are people who need support especially the orphans, the vulnerable and people affected by HIV/AIDS.

She calls upon people to not despise anyone no matter their social background especially during this difficult time of the virus.

“Those with the capability to help others should do so during this difficult time when the whole world is feeling the heat of the virus” Susan said.

Some orphans who benefited from the distribution cited that the soap will help them a lot maintain their hygiene during this pandemic period.

Since the outbreak of coronavirus, many organizations are seen helping people in different ways, some have been sensitizing the community on Covid 19, while some have been distributing soaps, sanitizers among others.

In Western Equatoria some organizations like USAP, JRS, CMMB, CODEP just to mention a few have been moving from one location (payam) to another creating awareness on corona virus as well as helping the vulnerable in the society who can’t afford soaps for handwashing, and other necessities such as face masks.
