The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio has appealed to the faithful at the diocese and the entire citizens in the Country not to get discouraged with the postponement of the visit of Pop Francis to South Sudan. “With this news, I know that all of us, the Catholic Christians, the people of South Sudan we are not happy. I want to encourage all the faithful in the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio not to be discouraged but to have hope” Bishop Hiiboro said.
The Holy Father Press office has on Friday, June 10, announced that Pope Francis has postponed the trip to a later date. “At the request of his doctors and in order not to jeopardize the result of the therapy that he is undergoing for His knee, the Holy Father has been forced to postpone, with regret, his Apostolic Journey to the Democratic Republic of Congo and to South Sudan, planned for 2 to 7 July, to a later date to be determined,” reads the message from Vatican.
In his homily on Sunday June 13, at St. Mary Parish, the prelate calls on the congregation to be courageous and pray for the Holy Father’s visit to South Sudan.
Bishop Hiiboro told the faithful to remain hopefully and courageous for the visit of Pope Francis in the Country. He insisted that the Holy Father will visit South Sudan when God the Almighty permits for his visit.
