Eastern Deanery Officially Receives their Episcopal Deanery Deacon
Eastern Deanery of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio has finally received an episcopate deacon. Rev. Fr. Venancio Zukpa was officially installed as the episcopal dean, of the Eastern Deanery during a colorful ceremony at Our Lady of Fatima Parish-Maridi.
The ceremony was led by the Vicar General of CDTY Rev. Fr. Thomas Ngbobiowai on Sunday, August 2 2020.
Speaking during the installation, the Vicar General asked the Episcopal Dean to ensure that he serves faithfully in accordance with the duties delegated to him per the letter from the Bishop of CDTY, Rt. Rev. Edwardo Hiiboro Kussala.
The Vicar General asked Christians who were present during the installation to support the dean in his work so that his mission may be successful.
On his part, Fr. Venancio swore to respect his duties and promised to serve faithfully as he thanks Bishop Hiiboro for believing in him.
He said, “It is not because I am highly educated or related to bishop that he has appointed me as a dean; no, he believed that I can do the duties he delegates to me to the best of my abilities for the interest of the people of God.”
Parish Priest at Don Bosco Monguo Parish in Maridi congratulated Fr. Venancio wishing him best of luck and offering his support and prayers.
The installed dean will serve for three years and among his duties include; working and planning with the diocesan clergy and care for the people among others.
