Bor County Youth Association chairperson promises to unite Bor community in Uganda
He urged all the South Sudanese living in Uganda including the refugees to forget the past and live together as South Sudanese saying that it is tribalism, division and hatred which has contributed to the long suffering of South Sudanese with millions living as refugees and IDPs.
The newly elected Bor County Youths Association chairperson in Uganda has vowed to unite all Bor community youths in Uganda. Mr Majur David Thiong made the remarks on Saturday, December 12 when he was elected.
He expressed that as the leader of Bor Youths living in Uganda, he is hoping to bring Bor community under one umbrella by promoting peace, love, unity and togetherness.
Majur also promised to bring change in education by supporting the best performing three Bor county students with mattresses and a suitcase. He further encouraged South Sudanese students not to only remain at O level certificate but to go further as they can including pursuing high education at the universities and other high learning institutions.
At the same time he urged all the South Sudanese living in Uganda including the refugees to forget the past and live together as South Sudanese saying that it is tribalism, division and hatred which has contributed to the long suffering of South Sudanese with millions living as refugees and IDPs.
Meanwhile Agau Wal another executive urged the Bor County Youths Leader to show good example to Bor county members by being truthful and trustworthy. He said that many people are known to use their positions to confuse and mislead the majority of South Sudanese youth by telling lies. He said many elders lie to the majority of South Sudanese students leading some of them to drop out of schools.
Agau added that, as leaders of Bor county Youths Association they plan to have tailoring courses for women who came to Uganda to look after their kin who are in schools. Some of these women, he said are currently just idling around and therefore equipping them with tailoring skills will go a long away even after they go back to South Sudan.
Speaking at the same event Bior Majak, Bor county youth Education minister said south Sudanese students need to work for peace, unity and love as he promised to fight for scholarship for the Bor county members and students studying in Uganda.
He also promised to introduce guiding and counselling courses to students studying in Uganda as many of these students living in Uganda are without parents and therefore lack parental guidance.
He further said that as an association, they are planning to buy text books for students from Bor County to help them improve on their performances
