A new water source was discovered yesterday at Basukangbi Payam of Nzara County. This is part of the ongoing water project being implemented by the Catholic organization for development and peace (CODEP) with funding from the Sudan Relief Fund.
The effort is now on the way to begin digging the water source in the next few days to come.
A team of humanitarian under CODEP together with water experts from the department of Wash, visited the site yesterday Wednesday, 1st March 2023, to assess the location of the hand borehole, at the same time to discover the location where the water source.
Similarly, another water source was discovered yesterday at St. Jude Chapel of St Augustin Parish only awaiting experts to commence the work.
This year CODEP has planned to dig seven hand pump water sources in different locations in the Diocese with the aim to curb water scarcity among the community and the parishioners in those planned areas.
The targeted areas include Maridi, Mambe, Yambio, Gangura, Ezo, and Bangasu. Last week, the “wash project” was launched in Maridi and Mambe.
