The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura - Yambio confirmed over 800 candidates during his peace mission to greater Tombura on December 27, 2022, an area that had been affected by tribal conflict.

Speaking during the Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Kussala describes the importance and purpose of confirmation to the Candidates in the Catholic Church, “through confirmation the Holy Spirit gives them the increased ability to practice their Catholic faith in every aspect of their lives and to witness Christ in every situation”, he said.

The prelate encouraged the candidates to be peace ambassadors adding that “the sacrament of confirmation helps a person to remain faithful to his or her baptismal commitment to witness to Christ and to serve others in every aspect of life”, he noted.

He advises the parents to teach their children catechism and remain focused always while calling on them to send children to the seminary.

The candidates who were confirmed comes from different parishes such as St. Mary Help of Christians Tambura Parish with a total of 500 candidates, St. Thomas source Yubu parish with 270 candidates meanwhile 155 candidates from Regina Mundi Ezo Catholic Parish.
