The Diocesan Office for Development & Peace (CODEP) of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio has launched a Lenten campaign on the theme "Caring for our common home" to promote Laudato si’ parishes by essentially sowing PEACE!
The Lenten campaign aims at actively encouraging the faithful to be fully immersed in the three essential practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving during the annual observance of Lent. The Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio highlights the responsibility each of us has, as an individual and as a member of our parish, to truly help care for our common home.

Prayer, fasting and almsgiving are necessary to create space for an "encounter with Jesus". The season of Lent "offers us an invitation "for an ecological spirituality grounded in the convictions of our faith".
Along with this Lenten message, the Catholic diocese of Tombura-Yambio will make available PowerPoints, Kit books and Action sheets, among which a Lenten calendar in the form of a 40-Day Lenten walk.
As we journey through Lent together, you are encouraged to read the scriptures and do reflections. You can write in a journal, share on social media, or reflect in silent prayer. Whatever you choose, let this be your prayer:
Along with asking for prayers for PEACE, help with chores, and to be kind and helpful to family and those in need, the walk involves some tasks explicitly aimed at caring for our common home.
The desired outcome of these triple Lenten practices is conversion, renewal, and transformation of our hearts to become a community of care and PEACE.
