“Get to Work in Order to be Productive in the Societies” Bishop Eduardo’s advice to Seminarians

By Joseph Ernesto

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio has advised seminarians to work hard in order to be productive and remain focused in their vocation for positive changes in the society.

Speaking during the closing of annual academic year 2022/2023 at St. John Paul II institute of philosophy on Saturday 22 April 2023, Barani calls on the seminarians to embrace the spirit of togetherness so that they may become good future spiritual leaders.

In his homily, he encouraged the seminarians to be prayerful during the holidays citing that spiritual aspect is very important.

“A seminarian needs to have a personal and singular relationship with Christ and the pastoral aspect is essential”.

On his part, the Rector of the Seminary Rev. Fr. Natale Vairi said that they have recorded great achievements in the process of the second semester as they have managed to cultivate a wide large farm (actors) to produce enough food in order to elevate hunger.

Vairi has called upon parents/guidance to support their children to focus on their vocation since seminary only gives them the opportunity to acquire the foundation of understanding upon which they are to build it throughout their pastoral lives.

He added that it is the responsibility of everybody in Western Equatoria to support a seminarian at every aspect of life not only the church or family members.

He urged the well-wishers to support the seminary both in kind and cash for the development of the institute.

Seminarian Bakumboyo Justin, the head prefect who talked on behalf of other seminarians  appreciated the officials of the institute for their good work that has enabled them to complete the second semester, urging his fellow seminarians to make good use of the holidays through prayers and supporting their relative.

St. John II Paul Institute of Philosophy has been awarded the best performing seminary in the field of the academic performance.

The best in the first year philosophy was Nyakagba Martin while in second year philosophy, Clement Bako Joseph and the most prayerful seminarian emerged as Seminarian Kasia Derick.
