The group of Azande Worldwide has reached out with distributions to orphans in Tombura County targeting over 200 households with the meager resources that give hope to the IDPs in different camps in Tombura.

Rev. Pastor Malesh Arminio Maari, who heads the distribution program on 27th Thursday 2024 in Tombura spoke to Anisa FM Radio that Azande from South Sudan, DR. Congo, Central Africa, and from other parts of the world have joined hands for the third time to support the conflict-affected children in Tombura.

Tombura County has been engulfed by the ugly phase of tribal conflict in 2024 that resulted to massive killings, abductions, and loss of property.

Pastor Arminio who heads the ECS Parish in Tombura describes the situation as a catastrophe for the lives of people who are in dire need of humanitarian basic needs as people are camped still at Complex, UNMISS, ST. Mary’s Tombura Parish and at the military barrack in Tombura.

The church servant calls on both local and national governments in South Sudan to support the displaced population to return home by maintaining peace in the area.

James Angel Juma, a teenager who receives the items commends the initiative that has reached them at the time they need most lamenting that the number who have received is less than those who did not get the support, calling for more support.

Juma further said “scholastic materials, clothes, and food are much needed for the survival of children, women, and the elderly”.

Since 5th April 2024, another wave of tribal conflict has shown face in the area of greater Tombura, worse that resulted in the missing persons and killing of a Catholic priest and his driver.
