In a move to address the pressing infrastructure challenges faced by the local community, the chairperson of the Yambio Suk Gumba Boda Boda Association, Mr. Emmanuel Gakomba, has spearheaded the repair of a heavily damaged section of the road in Suk Gumba.
The deteriorating state of the about 500 meters road has long been a source of frustration for the people of Suk Gumba hindering the smooth flow of transportation and most especially a leading cause of accidents in the area. Recognizing the urgent need for intervention, Mr. Emmanuel mobilized the Boda Boda Association members to take action and initiate the much-needed road repair project.
"The poor condition of this road has been a significant challenge for our community, affecting the livelihoods of many," said Mr. Emmanuel. "As the Boda Boda Association chairperson, I felt it was our responsibility to take the lead and address this issue, which has been neglected for far too long."
The repair work which commenced on Wednesday this week, involves filling potholes, leveling the surface, and reinforcing the road's structure to ensure better accessibility and safety for pedestrians and motorists. The Boda Boda Association has enlisted the support of local volunteers to expedite the project, and to complete the repairs as soon as possible.
"This project is not just about fixing a road, it's about empowering our community and demonstrating that when we come together, we can make a real difference," added Mr. Emmanuel. "We hope that this initiative will inspire other local leaders and organizations to take similar actions in addressing the pressing infrastructure needs of our region."
The residents of Suk Gumba have warmly welcomed the Boda Boda Association's effort, expressing their gratitude for the much-needed intervention.
