Parties to the revitalized peace agreement have finally agreed on the sharing of executive positions at the state level. This comes after weeks of meetings of the committee tasked with the allocation of portfolios at the state level.

Parties to the revitalized peace agreement have finally agreed on the sharing of executive positions at the state level. This comes after weeks of meetings of the committee tasked with the allocation of portfolios at the state level.

The responsibility sharing has been made according to the formula stipulated in the revitalized peace agreement.

 The responsibility-sharing is done on the percentages stated in the peace agreement which gives the incumbent transitional government of national unity 55%, SPLM-IO 27%, SSOA 10%, and other opposition parties 8%.

There will be ten state governors, ten deputy governors, five advisors, 17 ministries, six chairpersons of the commission with six deputy chairpersons, and 18 members of the commission and 35 County councilors.

The total number of county councilors will be 27655, which makes 35 in each county. SPLM in government, SPLM-IO and other opposition parties each have three deputy governors and SSOA has one.
