Civil Society Activist Calls upon Authorities to Urgently Intervene and Bring a Judge into the State
The director of Support Peace Initiative Organization (SPIDO) Mr. John Peter is concerned about the absence of a judge in the state, a situation that has kept many cases pending.
Speaking to Anisa Radio, he said that the situation has made people’s life harder as they are not in a position to express their feelings, thus limiting the freedom of speech in the society.
He is therefore calling upon the locals to be patient as his organization is working hand in hand with the government to ensure that a judge will soon be brought to Western Equatoria State.
The presence of a judges in the State will bring access to justice to the community at any time whenever need be. For quite some time, Western Equatoria State has been having only mobile judges and court on the ground. This has resulted to situations of lawlessness and the rise of injustices in the state.
Support Peace Initiative Organization (SPIDO) is a non-governmental and non-profit national organization that was established by a university student from the collage of law advocating for respect of human rights and rule of law in 2005 and legally registered with the Ministry of Justice in Juba on the 18th June 2013.
