Covid-19 Vaccination Launched in Nzara

The Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio in partnership with world vision has launched Johnson and Johnson vaccine in Nzara County as continues effort to fight Covid-19 in the community.
The vaccines were supplied by the world health organization to its implementing partners to communities of Western Equatoria State to boost people’s immune system against contracting Covid-19 virus.
Speaking during the launching, the executive director of Nzara County Mr. John Justin James, advises community in Nzara to rally and receive the jab in order to keep their bodies resistance to Covid-19 virus.
Mr. James calls on both traditional and religious leaders to communicate the importance of receiving the Covid-19 vaccine as a defense for their bodies.
“We as government of Nzara County, we are appealing to our people to be present where the vaccines for Covid-19 are availed in order for them to vaccinate themselves as said by the health officials to prevent contracting corona virus”. James lamented
Mr. Simon Sanduki CDTY Nzara county health coordinator casted out the doubt in the community regarding the side effect of the vaccine, saying the vaccines are safe and were verified thoroughly by the ministry of health before allowed in the Country.
“The team of vaccinators is now with us here in Nzara, the vaccine has no harm, only for people above fifteen years old. Pregnant women, the armies all other sectors are welcome to protect themselves against corona virus”. Sanduki narrated.
Since the vaccine was launched last, so far one million five hundred thousand and four hundred and ninety six people have been vaccinated, seventeen thousands seven hundred and eighty tested positive for the virus while one hundred and thirty eight succumbed to the virus.
Currently the government of South Sudan has allowed two types of vaccines for Covid-19 in the Country which; Astra-Zeneca and Johnson and Johnson.
