Ugandan Killed in South Sudan increases to eleven as Koboko Leaders Travel to Numela to Receive the Dead Bodies

Four more people who were killed in Kanji Lanya County, South Sudan have been identified. The four are all drivers of a South Sudan-based Green Valley Company that deals with timber business in the Central Uganda Region.

The dead were identified as Mutabie, Katogole, Abudule, and his son. The bodies of the deceased are in the hands of the SSPDF (South Sudan Peoples Defence Force) who recovers them from suspected rebel soldiers.

Koboko Municipality Mayor Wilson Sanya who is the team leader of the group that has traveled to the Elagu Numela border to receive the bodies said that they are coordinating with South Sudanese authorities. He said that the news of the recovery of four more bodies of deceased Ugandans reached them as they were waiting to receive the bodies of the taxi drivers who were killed around the same location on Sunday 28th March.

Sanya said he got this confirmation from the national security of South Sudan saying the other bodies could not be recovered because there was still heavy fighting around the area making it hard for them to recover the bodies.

According to the authorities, the total number of people killed in two different ambushes at the same point at Kanji in Lanya County, South Sudan has risen to eleven. These included the four Taxi drivers flying Koboko-Juba road who were murdered on Sunday, three unidentified bodies which are reported to have been with the rebels, and now the four drivers belonging to Green Valley Company.

Meanwhile a team of 12 vehicles leads by Wilson Sanya the Mayor of Koboko municipality is currently waiting at the Elagu border to receive the bodies after several coordination with their South Sudanese counterparts.
