Bandi Community in Maridi County Excited as New Church Building Unveiled

The community of Bandi is abuzz are excited following the inauguration of a new Church building at Bandi Chapel, a project made possible through the support of Catholic Prayer War Room Group Members, in Bandi, South Sudan, and the generous contributions of local residents.
The event, held on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, was marked by a heartfelt homily from Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio, who emphasized the transformative role the church should play in the community.
In his address, bishop Hiiboro described the new church as a center for renewal, urging congregants to view it as a beacon of hope and unity.
He encouraged the community to envision the Church as a foundation from which positive change can spread, inspiring similar transformations in other chapels and parishes throughout the region.
His words underscored the importance of community cohesion and moral integrity, setting a hopeful tone for the future.
During the service, Bishop Hiibiro also celebrated a significant milestone for the youth of the parish, as 126 individuals received the sacrament of confirmation. This rite of passage was framed as not just a personal commitment to faith but as an invitation to join the army of love, peace, and unity within their society.
