Three Newly Constructed Churches opened During the 3-Day Pastoral Visit of Bishop Eduardo to Mid - West Deanery
Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro kussala the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio paid a pastoral visit to Holy Trinity Mid-West Deanery in Enzo county which is about 170 kilometers from Yambio.
On 16th, September, 2022 he officially inaugurated, blessed and dedicated the Church of Baragu Center of the Holy Trinity Parish, under the theme “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations” (St Mark 11:17)

In his Massage Bishop Kussala expressed his sincere gratitude to the benefactors especially the Archdiocese of Toledo, Spain, to Fr Christopher Hartley the Parish Priest, and Christian Community of Baragu Center, Enzo County for their combined effort in building the House of God.

He added that the “Church is a symbol and closeness to God and God’s grace dwells in the Church whether big or small and reminded the Christians to love the people of God that reveals the presence of Lord in us.
Baragu Center for several years has suffered from violence, war of the Uganda Lord's Resistant Army (LRA), South Sudan civil war, etc! Many people disappeared, killed and displaced! But the survivors remained resilient and initiated to lay more bricks to build their church.
Inauguration of Holy Trinity Catholic Church Andari
On his second day of Pastoral visit to mid -west Deanery, Bishop Hiiboro Kussala, inaugurated the new Holy Trinity Catholic Church Andari Parish, and consecrated its altar with the sacramental oil and burning incense during Mass, describing the new church as an opportunity for evangelization.

“This new church, this new center of life, this new building and this new evangelization is something that gives us inspiration,” he said, it is a long time in coming, but I pray that together today we take heart. We become new disciples of the new evangelization effort. We reach out to others who need us. Those who are already Catholics, other Christians, those who do not know the faith and need to encounter Jesus Christ,” the bishop said.
“With the inauguration of this new church, this parish, which has existed since before the Civil War, will begin a new chapter of outreach and evangelization to the people of Andari Payam and the surrounding areas parts of DRC, as well in the neighboring country.
Diabio Ground Blessed for New Church
On his last day of pastoral visit to Holy Spirit Mid-West Deanery Bishop Kussala blessed Diabio ground for a new Church.
In his message, he expressed his gratitude to the Parish community for their commitment and desire to build a 1300-seat church to accommodate the growing faith community in Diabio, Naandi Parish in Ezo County.
Bishop Kussala gave his blessing to the land where the new church will be built and encouraged the parish community for their efforts to collect the necessary resources funds to make the new project possible. Much thanks to Fr Christopher the Parish priest for stepping fully with funds from Archdiocese of Toledo and friends to assist this Quasi Parish to make this possible!
“Please know this all of you are able to see that the current church is not what you need, the need is seen and felt by the community and that’s why all of you embark on this project”, said Bishop Hiiboro during the ceremony.
The Engineer Mr. Maleshi the contractor told the bishop that it will take him 11 Months to complete the construction of the church!
“We are building this because we need it now, Catechist John of Diabio Quasi parish said, but it's also for the generations coming after us. And that's really kind of the legacy that we can leave.”
One of the blessings of this project is to have one of the founders of the parish, and the beauty is the presence of the church in this Boma and you were not looking for your needs but for the future presence of the church here, Barani Eduardo narrated.
St. Peter and Paul Naandi Parish Officially Inaugurated by Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala
On his last day of Pastoral visit, 18th, September 2022, Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala inaugurated St. Peter and Paul parish in Naandi, Enzo County.
The prelate acknowledged the “Church is a symbol and closeness to God and God’s grace dwells in the Church whether big or small and reminded the Christians to love the people of God that reveals the presence of God in us.
He also noted that the area is recognized by its good leadership under King Paul Gbatanyaki who collaborates so much with the Church in the region and made it to be a pillar which the community is able to hold on.
According to Bishop Eduardo St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church has been renovated by Archdiocese of Toledo through Fr. Christopher Hartley as the Parish Priest. He also added that the Church was built in 1948 by the Missionaries was affected during the war.
The local Ordinary of CDTY opined that the church is Historic since the missionaries brought faith to the area. He described it as a place that has brought many religious; priests and sisters, further, more; it’s a place that Christians love to live exemplary work, people who love the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
The event was attended by several religious who comes from the area including the Vicar General; it also brought several children who witness the occasion.
