Thank You, Shukran, Tambuahe for Making Our Ordination Ceremony a Success
As the dust settles on our ordination ceremony which was held on April 25, my heart is full of gratitude to all those who made the event a success. I thank God who enabled this day to be; a day for ordaining his ministers; a day when we added more workers to the Lord’s vineyard.
The sacrament of Holy Orders is a rare gift; we always don't have, therefore when one comes like this, then we see it as a big blessing to us, to our families, and to our diocese. Therefore on behalf of these young men; two of who became priests while four became deacons, I thank God for his support, his guidance, and his call.
Secondly, I express my gratitude to all the priests who have journeyed with these young people throughout their formation time. Right from the day these young men were admitted into the seminary up to the day they receive the sacrament of Holy Orders, a host of priests have journeyed with them through different stages and eventually recommending them for the priestly and diaconate ministry. I, therefore, thank all the priests, the religious, and any other formators in whose hands these young men have passed through.
I want to also express special gratitude to the parents, guardians, and relatives of these young people for raising them well, for taking care of them, and encouraging them to follow their priestly vocation. Your roles have been very instrumental in the vocation of these young men. Because of this we now have more workers in the Lord’s Vineyard.
My gratitude also goes to all our benefactors and friends who have supported us during the formation of seminarians. Because you are many, kindly allow me to mention just a few which come to mind at the moment: St. Joseph Young Priests Association in Ireland, Aid to the Church in Need from Germany, and Propaganda Fides. Your financial support through a scholarship to the students as well as supporting various aspects of seminary formation has been of great help. May God bless you abundantly.
In a special way, I thank Sudan Relief Fund for supporting us so much in every aspect of the formation of our seminarians. Sudan Relief fund has done a lot and continues to support the academic program of our seminarians both within and outside the country and even until this moment, they have facilitated the ordination ceremony to the end. I thank you so much Sudan Relief Fund.
My appreciation also goes to the Mother Church, the Holy See for financial support, moral support, and the permit that allows us to continue with the formation programs in our Diocese. I'm so grateful to the Holy Father and to all those who collaborate with him in helping him take care of the mother church.
I want to conclude by sending my appreciation to Rev. Fr. Anthony Bangoye, the parish priest of Nzara parish who organized the ordination in his parish. I thank all the Christian Communities, the catechists, the choirs, and all the groups for ensuring that we had wonderful celebrations; I thank you all. Also not forgetting the people who joined us during the occasion including government officials, and even the Muslim community, thank you so much and May God bless you all.
