His Lordship Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala in his homily encouraged parents to care for their children by educating them for a better future and South Sudan at large as a country.
“You must care for your children even if that child is not your biological son or daughter please do support them to grow better people of the Republic of South Sudan”
The prelate advised the children to always go for the sacraments of confession always and receive the body of Christ, urging them to obey their parents and show respect to everyone.
Parishioners gathered in large numbers to celebrate the day with children, the children assembled in the on the street of Nzara County to welcome the bishop with welcoming songs and lay pieces of clothes on the down for the bishop to pass on it as one way of seeking blessing.
Bishop Eduardo pointed out the many ways in which children suffer around the world slave labour, exploitation, war, forced immigration, extreme poverty, improper care by the parents or guidance, and so on.
Feast of the Holy Innocents is a Christian feast in remembrance of the massacre of young children in Bethlehem by King Herod the Great in his attempt to kill the infant Jesus (Matthew 2:16–18).
