In his recent pastoral mission in the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio, Bishop Hiiboro made a significant impact on the faith community. Bishop Hiiboro confirmed a total of 577 children from both the Eastern Deanery and Holy Cross Deanery in the year 2023.
The bishop administered various sacraments, including Baptism, Confirmation, Anointing of the Sick, and Matrimony. Notably, over 300 children were baptized in the Eastern Deanery. Additionally, a substantial number, 1300 children, received their First Holy Communion (the Eucharist) across several parishes.
Parishes such as St Charles Lwanga Catholic Church in Ibba, Don Bosco Manguo, Our Lady of Fatima in Maridi, St Lucy Catholic Mission Mambe, St Andrea Catholic Parish in Riingasi, St Peter Namaku Parish, and St Justin Catholic Parish Basukangbi played a key role in these sacramental celebrations.
During his tour, Bishop Hiiboro consistently emphasized the values of humbleness, respect, sympathy, and empathy for fostering peaceful coexistence within the church community.
The bishop highlighted the central theme of this year's Christmas celebration as humility, urging congregants to emulate the qualities of Jesus Christ. He emphasized the importance of working together and treating everyone equally.
He expressed gratitude to the faithful Christians for their support, encouraging them to continue contributing to the development of their churches. He also called for unity in all aspects of life.
In a notable call to action, Bishop Hiiboro urged parents to prioritize the vocation of their children, suggesting sending them to the seminary.
