Bishop Hiiboro Blesses Candidates for National Examination, Catholic Education Secretariat Offers to Feed Candidates
Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio, Barani Eduardo Hiiboro on 20th March blessed Senior Four Candidates from seven secondary schools in and around Yambio. The ceremony which took place at St. Mary Mother of God Parish Yambio is an annual tradition by the diocese dubbed the mother of all success cards as the candidates get blessings ahead of their national examinations.
This year, the exams are scheduled to begin on Monday, 22nd March 2021. Barani Eduardo who was the main celebrant during the Eucharistic Celebrations encouraged the candidates to believe in God, and have trust in Jesus Christ. He advised them to go to the exam room with courage, confidence, calmness, and a relaxed attitude.
Bishop Hiiboro assured the candidates of success telling them that having prepared well and with faith in God who gives everything to all the people he created, the children will surely do well.
Also addressing the students at the end of the Mass, the acting parish priest Rev. Fr. Maurice Ibiko thanked the candidates for attending the service and reassured them that failure cannot come to anyone who embraces God and take their studies seriously.
The students appreciated this great pastoral gesture of the diocese towards them. This Monday, the senior four students all over South Sudan will begin their National Examination.
Meanwhile, the Education Secretariat of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio has offered to provide food for the senior four students who will be starting their national exams on Monday. School administrations have created camps in schools where the candidates are expected to stay and sleep, thereby giving them more time and peace for last-minute revisions.
Mr. Caesar Daudau, the acting secretary for education in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio was able to identify the need that the candidates should be helped during this period of exams to make them have ample time for revisions. As such the Catholic Education Secretariat is collaborating with school administrations by giving donations for food.
Bishop Hiiboro thanked the Catholic Education Secretariat for taking such initiative and for being close and considerate to our students.
