Bishop Tasks the children at Our Lady of Fatima Parish to Love
Rt. Rev. Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio has encouraged children in Maridi to keep hope, stay positive, and love with all their heart as this is all that is required of them.
The bishop made the children recommit themselves to love when he asked them to pledge to love South Sudan, to Maridi, to love their diocese of Tombura-Yambio, to love their parents, guardians, teachers, and fellow children. He also made them recommit to love their land, their soil, their environment, their continent, and the world.
“Imagine, the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of God belongs to you. So you are the hope of Maridi, you are the hope of South Sudan, you are the hope of Africa and of the world; when you truly love, you give back to God who first loves you so much,” he told them.
The bishop further expressed that children are the flowers, the beauty, and the joy of God. They smell nice, they look great, they are the most beautiful creatures of God; the image of God; the joy and the hope of parents.
“Children, do you remember what Jesus said to children like you? He said he wants the parents to take care of you. He warned the parents not to prevent you from growth, he warned the elders not to give you hard time as children. He urged the elders to help you to be able to grow. What did he say to the elders when they tried to prevent you from coming to him? Jesus told them, leave the children alone, let them come to me because to these ones belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
