Sister Terezinah Esparanza Merandi, a Missionary Sister of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, who is also a member of the pastoral team of solidarity in South Sudan is calling on the people of God to respect human life citing that human life has value and meaning.

Speaking to Rurugene Online News Correspondents in Juba, Sr. Terezinah said that in as much as language barrier has remained a challenge among people who are trying to communicate messages of peace and reconciliation, there is need for citizens to realize that human life has dignity and must be valued.

Sister Terezinah Merandi is responsible for spiritual directions, Retreats, Mission integration, and communal work for peacebuilding and reconciliations at Good Shepherd peace center in Juba.

She stated that there is a lot of distress among people and the situations are not getting better. She expressed concern as to whether the country might be going back to civil war because there is a sense of fragmentation among people all over.

Terezinah feels that there is much to be done because the human reality in South Sudan is currently very unstable. There is a need to find something that can unify all people of South Sudan.

She also expresses that there is a need for improvement in the spirituality of people around the country and for this to happen, work must begin from grass-root levels, with the catechists and in Christian communities, women groups, youth groups, and families across the dioceses in the country.
