The Future and the Strength of the Church is Felt through Formation

In the past two weeks, the Bishop of CDTY traveled to Rome to visit Priests and Seminarians studying in Rome. In a message shared with RURUGENE through WhatsApp, the Bishop expressed that he believes the future and strength of the Church is felt through the formation of seminarians and priests in different fields through authentic preparation of the agents of Evangelization.

The prelate also disclosed the vision of 2030 for CDTY of raising many agents of Evangelization; priests, religious, and catechetics to the fullest formation needed.

“This plan is working, as we plan that by 2030, we should have a bigger number of well-trained formators within our diocese with degrees, Masters Degrees, Doctorate, in different fields so that we may be able to build the Kingdom of God in the Diocese and the country,” the bishop explained.

He also added, “I’m so happy to come all the way to Rome to see this group here, this big number of people studying in Rome, and I’m impressed by their intelligence, the kind of questions they are asking me, their attitude and expression.”

He encouraged them to work hard so that they may come back with good things for the Diocese reminding them to keep on reading the three books that he always advised them;

  1. The book of culture, and language of the people where they are staying.
  2. The real books of academic
  3. The books of creativity and friendship.

The number of priests and seminarians in different countries are as follows;

Italy        12

Spain       4

Kenya       10

Uganda      8

He called upon the Christians to pray for this vision to be realized fully.

A vocation is a call to live life in a particular way, as a response to our baptismal call to love and serve God. Marriage, priesthood, religious life, and being single, are all vocations in the Catholic Church. No one vocation is more important than another every vocation is important to all the others.

Gods call the souls he has created to love him with their whole being, here and thereafter, which means that he calls all of them to holiness, to perfection to a close following of him and obedience it his will.
