Northern Bahr El Ghazal State Embraces Bishop Eduardo as “Mading Malual”

In preparation for launching the National Eucharistic Congress and Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Sudanese hierarchy of the Catholic Church from 1974-2024 Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio (CDTY) visited Aweil City to pray with Christians Community of St George Catholic Church.

According to Bishop Eduardo, he received a colorful state reception from the state government of Nothern Bahr El Ghazal State Aweil and the Catholic Diocese of Wau.

“I was assigned at St. George Catholic Parish in Aweil North El Ghazal and this was a joy for me”.

Bishop Eduardo added that the people of Wau named him Mading Malual, “I was renamed Bishop Mading Malual by the esteemed peaceful of Awiel Northern Bahar El Gaghal”, He continued, “Honoring someone with names of gifts means respect and celebrating that person. It’s about accepting someone as they are and appreciating them for who they are”.

He also disclosed that Aweil people gifted him with different gifts including cattle.
