  The King of Azande Kingdom, His Majesty Atoroba Wilson Rikito Gbudue on June 9, 2022 launched the general registration of the Azande people in Western Equatoria State, South Sudan, in Africa and all over the world. The Kingdom of the Azande people in South Sudan was re-installed on 9 February in Yambio Western Equatoria State. Azande people from the Bantus origin in South Sudan in the historical ranking are the second largest ethnicity in the Country. The registration included; all the people living within the Kingdom, Azande living in other parts of South Sudan, Azande living within the East Africa and other parts of Africa, Azande living in the diaspora or Western World and Azande living around the world.

  His Majesty, Atoroba Wilsom Rikito Gbudue, invited all his council of elders, different community leaders and members of the public in Yambio to the palace addressing them before the initiation of the general registration that the King himself took lead and be the first to be registered for the importance of the project for the kingdom and all people living and residing in the territory of the Kingdom and beyond.

The King and the Queen of Azande Kingdom

  The King said the “registration program is an essential process to register all people in the Kingdom and all the Azande people living in all African Countries and beyond and know how the kingdom and its people can work collegially for the welfare of people and supplement the effort of the government through service delivery. The registration started immediately with King, Queen and all members who attended the first occasion in the Palace and later will be commissioned out.

  The occasion with the theme “let us know our population for development and support to the Azande people” was also graced by community leaders and Sub-chiefs and leaders of different ethnicities who attended the initiation and were voluntarily registered.

  King Atoroba Wilson Rikito Gbudue, succeeded his grandfather King Gbudue one of the ancestral African kings who resisted numerous colonial powers until his death as he was shot and killed by the British colonial forces in his palace currently Yambio in 1905.
