Bishop Appoints New Rector for St. John Paul II Philosophicum Seminary of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio

The bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio has appointed Fr. Hume George as the new rector of St. John Paul II philosophicum seminary taking over Fr. John Ngbapia who had been serving in the seminary for the last seven years and while at the same time serving as the director of Vocation Animation in the diocese.

The bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio has appointed Fr. Hume George as the new rector of St. John Paul II philosophicum seminary taking over Fr. John Ngbapia who had been serving in the seminary for the last seven years and while at the same time serving as the director of Vocation Animation in the diocese.

 Speaking during the handover, the spiritual director of the diocese Fr. Andrew Mbuniwia advised the staff who had been working with the outgoing rector to continue rendering the same services and dedication to the new rector. He advised then to cooperate fully with the new rector and help him settle well in his work.

 During the same function, the outgoing rector urged the incoming one to be strong and takes the steering wheel confidently to lead the people of God.

 Meanwhile, the incoming rector said that when he heard from the bishop about his appointment as the new rector for the seminary, it was very hard for him to say yes. However, when he considered the tremendous work done by his now predecessor, he was challenged to take the mantle and continue with the good work.

 “I accepted the appointment made by the Bishop to replace Fr. Ngbapia, and now I promise to work together with the team that he is leaving behind and also with him whenever we will be needing his wise counsel,” Fr. Hume said.

 Speaking at the same occasion, the Vicar General Rev. Fr. Thomas Bagbiowia said that the incoming rector should embrace the spirit of collaboration in working with the team left behind by Fr. Ngbapia. He pointed out that teamwork and good understanding will be key to the success of his work at the seminary.

 The appointment of the new rector for St. John Paul II philosophicum seminary was made by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio His Lordship, Barani Edwardo Hiboro Kusala in order to relieve Fr. Ngbapia who is scheduled to go for further studies in the nearby future.
