“The Kingdom is Non – Political” King Atoroba to the People of Western Equatoria

His majesty king Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue assured the people of Azande kingdom is non - political and will not interfere with any political affairs.
“The kingdom has not been restored based on interest of political party, neither to select a person to contest during elections and command community of Azande to vote for the person”, King Atoroba asserted
In his first public address on Saturday 20th, 2022 at Yambio freedom square, King Atoroba thanked the Zande community for restoring back the lost cultures that were abolished shortly after the death of late King Gbudue who was murdered in 1905 during the condominium rule of Anglo Egyptians.
King Atoroba added that the kingdom will work closely with the government but will not involve deeply into political decisions. He said the kingdom basically aims to restore lost cultures of Azande people and strengthen socio- coexistence with other tribes as one way to foster out development in the society.
The King vowed to harmonized dowry among Azende people to pave way for young men to marry and settle at their homes. “The kingdom will address issues of high dowry to enable our young men and women get married, but there will be guiding principles, as a young man, before approaching somebody’s daughter, you must have enough food in your granary within your own house, restoring our dressing code and creating many opportunities for the development of Azande community”. King Atoroba added.
His first address came as a result of a three-day workshop organized to local leaders under the theme “Strengthening Traditional Leadership for Coexistence, Socio Cohesion and Reconciliation”.
It also aimed at explaining the administrative ways, the rule of the law of the newly restored kingdom.
