Over 50 Catechists in the six deaneries in the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio began their ten days training at Palica, nzara.
During the official opening of the training the pastoral coordinator Rev Fr. John Mendeni said that “the main aim of conducting this training to the Catechists around the diocese is to help them in capacity building as they carry on the work of God to his people in their different places”.
Rev Fr. John Mendeni thanked the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio Barani Eduardo Hiiboro for the great initiative he has made for this training to be successful.
His Lordship Barani Eduardo Hiiboro said that its of great joy to see all the Catechists from the six deaneries who have come to attend this noble training.
The local ordinary of CDTY stressed that the Catechists are the genesis of things, the stones, power, image and the holders of the diocesan faith thus calling upon the Catechists to collaborate with their parish priests to take the training seriously and focus on the Catechist’s ministry.
The prelate finally expressed his gratitude to the solidarity team for accepting his call.
Fr. Christy the facilitator, expressed that “it’s a great honor to be in the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio to conduct the training and to help the catechists in their journey of catechism”.
He stressed that catechists are the root of the faith all over the church and that’s why the training will be based on faith sharing and liturgy of the Catechists.
Fr. Christy finally expressed his gratitude to Bishop Hiiboro for the invitation and for thinking about the training for his catechists.
