The Catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio on Tuesday morning received two second-hand motorcycles donated by the Jesuit refugee service.
The Honda _XL bikes were donated last week to the administration of the diocese in Curia at the Bishop resident.
The diocesan acting Chancellor Rev. Fr. Wasi Benjamin, briefly after the handover ceremony, said the motorcycles will help to facilitate the work in the Diocese.
The JRS program manager Mr. Matabi said that the donation is to aid the humanitarian work of the diocese across the State.
“This is just to support the diocese mobility. So JRS reaffirmed its continued stand to collaborate with the Catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio”. Matabi stated
Bishop Edwardo Hiiboro Kusala applauded JRS for its long partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio.
“I want to applaud the JRS office in Yambio and its head office for its collaboration that has been there for over years. JRS was the first Catholic organization I contacted to come and operate in the region of western Equatoria. So, it took us good time to negotiate with JRS to come here, because their purpose is to deal with refugees”.
Bishop Hiiboro assured JRS of the diocese's continued collaboration to deliver service to people and applauded the organization for the donation.
