Diocesan Youth Music Festival for Peace Kicks Off in Tambura-Yambio Diocese

The diocesan annual youth music competition for peace kicked off in Yambio WES on Monday morning under the Theme “Maintaining Peace on Diversity”, the youth music festival brought close to 1000 young people in the six deaneries of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, His Lordship Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala advised the youth to maintain peace even though the event has been organized with the element of competition.

Hiiboro underlined the importance of peace saying that, for youth who are well informed of the importance of peace in a given country there will be no violent atrocities adding that many young are in love in the South Sudan conflict as a result of the absence of peace.

He urged men and women to accept peace in their families “Whoever you, a woman or man educated or uneducated whatever categories you belong to, you maintain peace” the catholic prelate explained.

Mr William Tambua the Diocesan youth coordinator of the CDTY, welcomed the initiative by thanking the CDTY administers for bringing the youth together to showcase their talents.

Tambua advised that the annual music festival should be a continuous program to strengthen the capacity of choirs in their different parishes in the Diocese.

The annual diocesan youth music festival brought youth from different deaneries, Corpus Christ Eastern Deanery, Maridi, resurrection mid-eastern Deanery Bangasu, All Saints Central Deanery Yambio, Holy Cross Mid Central Deanery Nzara, Holy Spirit mid-west Deanery Ezo, our lady queen of South Sudan western deanery Tambura.
