In a momentous announcement on Monday, 29th 2023, the Catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio (CDTY) is set to launch the National Eucharistic Congress at the Diocesan level on 31st Wednesday at St. Mary Mother of God, under the theme “One Body, One Spirit in Christ”.
This news was shared by the Vicar General, Rev. Fr, Thomas Bagbiowia, during the launch of the diocesan annual youth music competition for peace. The competition successfully brought together nearly 1000 young individuals from the six deaneries of CDTY.
Speaking to Anisa Radio, Fr. Thomas expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event and outlined some of the anticipated benefits. He emphasized that the Congress would act as a catalyst for the renewal and strengthening of faith in Jesus.
He added that the celebration of the Eucharistic is as a living presence of Jesus in our midst.
The chosen theme, "One Body, One Spirit in Christ," reflects the essence of unity and togetherness that the Catholic community strives for. The congress provides a unique opportunity for members of the diocese to come together in a collective celebration of their faith. Through prayer, reflection, and shared experiences, attendees can strengthen their connection with Christ and deepen their understanding of the Eucharist.
In a message shared with the Rurugene Online Newsletter, bishop Eduardo said “Be there when God moves, come in faith, leave with hope.
“God hears our prayers for the renewal of our Church. He will answer them through a life-changing transformation of our own hearts. The 10th National Eucharistic Congress is an invitation to experience profound personal revival so we can be sent out to share Christ’s love with a world that so desperately needs it. Whether you can come for one day or all five, join us for this generational moment”
The celebration of the Eucharistic Congress also coincides with the Golden Jubilee celebration of Sudan and South Sudan hierarchy
