Condolences to the People of the Archdiocese of Kampala, People of Uganda and the Bereaved Family Members of the Late Most Rev. Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, the Archbishop of Kampala-Uganda
I have received with great sadness the shocking news of the passing on of the Archbishop of Kampala Most Rev. Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga. On behalf of the people of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio and to an extension the people of the Republic of South Sudan, I send our heartfelt condolences, and sympathy to the Archdiocese of Kampala, to the people of Uganda and to the family of the late Archbishop Cyprian.
On Saturday April 3rd, 2021 when the world was silent, praying at the tomb of Jesus our savior, the author of life, Archbishop Cyprian passed on together with his Savior and Master, Our Lord Jesus Christ and we know in hope that the Archbishop will resurrect with Christ in eternal life.
May all of us who mourn the Late Archbishop Cyprian be strengthened by the words of Jesus Christ Himself, who assured all who believe in Him that He will not reject anyone who come to Him, but that all will come home to rest in our eternal home where He is preparing for all of us.
The Late Archbishop Cyprian has been very kind, has been instrumental to the wellbeing of the people of the Archdiocese of Kampala; we South Sudanese are greatly indebted to him because we have thousands of our South Sudanese brothers and sisters both Catholics and other Christians who live in the Archdiocese of Kampala and the Late Archbishop Cyprian has been a father, a friend and indeed a man of God to them.
May God grant him eternal rest; may He grant consolation to the people of the Archdiocese of Kampala and to the bereaved family members of Late Archbishop Cyprian and that upon the words of Christ, may Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga be granted eternal life.
May the blessings of God Bless be upon us all. Amen
Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala,
Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio
Republic of South Sudan
