A section of residents from Western Equatoria State is calling on the government to re-open schools across the country.
A section of residents from Western Equatoria State is calling on the government to re-open schools across the country. This came after President Salva Kiir stated on August 9th that he would re-open places of worship in South Sudan.
Residents of Yambio who got interviewed by Anisa Radio stated the opening of churches should also pave way for resumption of learning across South Sudan.
Mr. John Tamania deputy headmaster of St Mary primary school located in Tombura-Yambio, stated a major challenge of not opening schools is teenage pregnancies.
Meanwhile, thousands of Christians in the central denary of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio expressed their happiness about the news of the reopening of churches. Schools and religious institutions were closed across South Sudan in March as a preventive measure against COVID-19.
