A two-month COVID 19 awareness ends in Maridi and Ibba counties of Western Equatoria State

The parish priest of our lady of Fatima, Maridi, Fr. Dominic Sasa, has confirmed to radio Anisa Maridi that the COVID 19 awareness campaign that was planned and conducted by the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio (CDTY) in a collaboration of Inter-Faith partnership with AMREF ended on Friday, August 21.
The awareness which covered Ibba and Maridi Counties was sponsored by the Italian Bishops Conference.
With AMREF and CDTY as the implementers of the project, Father Dominic said that the awareness was successful and he hopes for the continuation of it until the time when all people from Western Equatoria will fully understand more ways of preventing COVID 19.
Father Dominic applauded the Inter-Faith Committee of Maridi and Church Network Committee of Ibba for ensuring the smooth running of the project.
Taban Patrick the project manager of AMREF Health Africa appreciated the Italian Bishops Conference for the funding, adding that, besides many activities conducted in the course of the two months, they have managed to train 40 people from the two counties on COVID 19 who will help to continue spreading messages on COVID 19.
