St. Augustine said, “he who sings prays twice”, is the first motivation behind the English, Arabic and Azande choirs of St Mary Mother of God parish in western Deanery of CDTY. In an online interview with Mr. Jada Michael the organizing secretary of the upcoming concert underscored that the organized musical concert will be a moment of sharing the Gospel, peace building, trauma healing through singing and to expose the choirs to different levels.

“The purpose of the concert is to share the Gospel through music, to expose the choirs into next level, trauma healing and to be a moment of experiencing a peace of mind since we have been experiencing a lot of drama, inter-conflict where people have developed psychosocial problems”, Jada narrated.

Jada noted that the musical concert that is set to be on 29th, October 2022 is one of a kind since it’s the first musical concert in CDTY, “this is the first concert in the history of CDTY so the English choir in collaboration with Arabic and Azande choirs thought it wise that its necessary to organize the concert since it will let Christians know that they have talents within them” Jada said.

During the interview Jada disclosed that the concert will also expose them to the public organizing events like weddings, birthday celebration and different anniversaries to hire them they can color their celebration with their angelic voices. He further explained that they are able to sing classic songs and they have localized their local songs into classic songs.

The concert is set to be at St. Mary Mother of God Parish in Yambio and the participants include; English choir, Arabic choir, Azande choir, Abangite College with traditional dance, St. Monica and Taban group who will present their Trumpets.

He opined that it will be a blessing and great day in St. Mary and they would be happy to see Christians turning up for the event, “it is going to be a blessing for us and a great day in St. Mary and we would be happy to see the Christians turning up in good number”.

The concert will be within the western deanery and Mr. Michael Jada expressed his hope that next year they will plan with other deaneries and probably make it a competition of inter-deaneries insisting that the one they have organized is a trial to help them go beyond CDTY.

Governor of Western Equatoria State Mr. Alfred Futuyo Karaba, is among the invited guests to grace this auspicious occasion.
