Members of Yambio retired football team donated food items to orphans at Evangelical Lutheran church in Yambio. Speaking during the handing over of food items to the orphans, Mr. Jada Michael Modi, the president of Yambio retired football team says, “doing good to the less privileged should be a task for those people God has blessed.”
Mr. Jada opined that “orphans are the future leaders of this country”. He further encouraged them to see whoever is among them are their father and mother and to study very hard.
Mrs. Juliana Patrick the house parent at House of Hope orphanage said that currently at the orphanage, they have twelve boys and twelve girls, she continued, “I spent four years with the orphans and apparently the major challenge is of drugs especially malaria drugs since most of the orphans fell sick quite often”.
Monica Mborikono, one of the orphans thanked the members of Yambio retired football team for the donation of food items, “we thank you all for what you have done for us, we didn’t know that we will see you today but the Almighty God made it possible,” Mborikino said.
Yambio retired football team is a team of ex-footballers who play for the benefit of exercising their bodies and this team was formed in Yambio way back in 2013.
The food items donated to the orphanage include; sugar, rice, washing soap, onions, cooking oil and beans.
