“Education should be in the DNA of our Young People,” says Mr. Simon Mikanipare
Mr. Simon Mikanipare the Coordinator of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura - Yambio in South Sudan, has called upon all young people to let education reflect in their blood system.
“As I reflect on life and read different articles in various forums, education should reflect in the blood system of our young men and women so that most of the questions we ask in various forums can be addressed directly, accurately, effectively and correctly at the right time to the people of our diocese, our States as well as our Nation,” he said.
Mikanipare who is specialized in international relationships, peace-building, and conflict resolution has advised young people to be innovative, “Young people should have innovative ideas and put the ideas into practice so that they can sustain their education in various fields.”
In his message he called upon parents and grandparents to let their children be deeply rooted in education.
“Grand parents should minimize the statement "I want to carry my grandson" such statements doesn’t add value to education of our children life. We know we need to multiply and fill the earth as the Bible says, but let us give priority to education first,” Mr. Simon lamented, he continued, I humbly submit towards education to be among the top priority in the current growth of young people in our country, having children and family is a journey which we need to prepare young people for. It’s not something to rush to by just encouraging our children to marry and have kids for the sake of having grandchildren. Before pushing for grandchildren do we push for preparation? If the children are born, can we afford medication, food and upkeep in the perfect process? We need first to prepare the way, in Bible John Baptist prepared the way for Jesus to come, therefore as Christians we should imitate Christ by preparing our children before marriage,” he narrated.
He also added that marriage and having children should not bring agony and sorrow into families but joy.
In conclusion, Mr. Simon urged the parents to “take education of their children seriously to see that 2023 comes with better chances, positive transformation in our society and let love for education to cover their hearts.”
