Scholars once said that “the history of the Church is not just the recitation of Popes and Saints; it is a story of adventure, intrigue, rebellion, reform, and devotion. In this study, you will learn about the important people, places, and events in two thousand years of Church history, presented in twelve easy-to-remember color-coded time periods. You will discover the true stories behind the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and the Protestant Reformation”.

Fr. Benjamin Wasi who completed his studies successfully at St. Damaso Catholic University in Spain stated that he will help the Christians to grow in faith with the knowledge he has in Church History.

“With this knowledge, I want to help our Christians to grow in faith and enable them to know the origin, development, and progress of the Catholic faith and their Church from the past to the present”.

During the online interview with RURUGENE, Fr. Wasi noted that his major goal as a priest and as a Church Historian is to have a deeper knowledge of Church History each day so that he can serve his people who are in great need.

According to Fr. Wasi, the knowledge received from the school should not be for pride but for the service and welfare of our society.

He further told the people of CDTY “that education is a vital tool for our society, no one should say that he/ she is old for school, we need to love education so that we acquire better knowledge to serve our people”.

Speaking during the handing over of his dissertation to the Bishop of CDTY, Fr. Wasi said, “despite challenges faced during the collection of materials to complete his dissertation, I proudly say that, I have completed it. “I thank those who made it possible for me; my lecturers, more especially the missionaries who tirelessly supported me with various materials towards the completion of this dissertation,” My dissertation was on evangelization and Christianity in South Sudan in the 19th century to the contemporary time that is the entry and progress of Christianity in Sudan”, he said.

Rev Fr. Wasi encouraged the parents and children to go to school. He emphasized the importance of education as the key to a better transformative life regardless of age or family status.

The catholic priest encouraged his fellow priests to continuously study whenever there are opportunities.

For his part, Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala appreciated the effort of the priest for the achievement adding that this is historical stressing that people without history have no destiny.
