"Goverment to Reforming Payroll to Enable Prompt Payment of Civil Servants", Says Reveals Finance Minister

By Baraka John

The National Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Bak Barnaba Chol has described the ongoing payment of government civil servants in the country as one way to clear out ghost names in the government pay roles.

Barnaba said that the move aims to establish efficiency and effectiveness in paying government man powers.

He added that civil servants are currently going through a difficult time, because of the government's inability to pay salaries promptly due to what he termed as “insufficient resources in the national ministry of finance”.

South Sudan's Central Government early last year dispersed committees of finances across the country to pay off its man powers with a salary of August. The move according to the official at the National Ministry of Finance and Labor, is to clear out ghost names that have been existing in various government payrolls.
