National Election Commissioner to Decide Whether the Country is Ready for Election or Not Says the Presidential Minister

The minister in charge of presidential affairs Hon. Joseph Bakosoro said on Monday 29th at St. Mary Mother of God Parish that the decision on whether the Country is ready to go for election in December this year is in the hands of the National Election Commission (NEC).
Minister Bakosoro urged South Sudanese to accept the election to take place, once the body responsible for the conducting of the exercise releases a calendar detailing the activities of the Country’s first-ever democratic poll.
He added that the election gives way for the citizens to choose their legitimate leaders.
South Sudanese are expected to cast ballots in December this year to end almost a decade of a transitional ruling by a coalition government that signed the 2018 revitalized peace agreement that ended years of civil war in the country.
